called to Young Women

For most of my adult life, my service in the church has been with Primary (the small children) and Relief Society (the women) with a short time in Young Women (teenagers) about 18 years ago.  I did have the opportunity to teach Seminary (daily morning religious class for teenagers) for a couple of years which was a lot of fun.  It was a lot of work too but impossible when I had a baby.  So I stopped.

Then last year, I was excited to be called to serve in the Young Women's again.  I had hoped to be able to serve with my girls, but Sarah had already left home. Thankfully, I got to spend more time with Rachel and Bekah (not sure they appreciated that much).  But, sadly, I only served 6 months (great experience!) because the Lord moved us to CA.  Well, I guess the Lord gave me  6 months to settle my household, cause now He has put me back in the service of the Young Women as their president.   I had had am impression that this might happen, so I wasn't totally surprised.  But I must say that I'm thrilled and humbled.  Working with the youth is such a great experience!  So far Rachel and Bekah are being good sports about it.  Hopefully, we can use this time together to build our relationships even more.  I love having opportunities to share my testimony with them.

There's a lot of work to do.  Thankfully, I worked along side some wonderful women in NC who taught me by their examples how to lead.  I hope I can be like them.

  1. That's great Noelle. You will do amazing things for those YW. I was just thinking you should use your sunrise picture as a backdrop for an Arise and Shine Forth cover for your binder. We have New Beginnings coming up and were going to make binder covers for all the girls with this years theme so that is why I was thinking of your picture.
