good day to sick day

She does her best work with her tongue hanging out.
Because of being rejuvenated on Sunday, I usually have very productive Mondays.  Yesterday was no exception.  I even spent time with Abigail doing some pre-school workbooks.  We read quite a bit too (I have been feeling guilty not doing what I did with the other kids).  We put her toddler bed away (my baby is growing up!) and actually felt prepared for the kids to come home from school.  A mother prepared is a beautiful thing! I was able to have conversations with the kids and keep them on task.  Lesson learned:  if I'm not on task then chances are others are not either.

Today is another story.  Esther woke with a 103 temperature.  I haven't seen that number in a long time.  You can see the heat in her face.  Needless to say I've been put off track.  I've not been as productive but that is the life of a big family.  As structured as I would like it to be, there is always something that is out of the norm.  So I plan as best I can and just move ahead.]

But I was successful today in contacting my "old" best friend from college and high school.  We've both become so busy in our old age that we only communicate through sporadic emails or over the phone every couple of years.  I enjoy talking with her because she is so wise and always makes me laugh.  We used to have great times together.  She should be the one writing a blog because that's what she loves to do.  She tells me though that blogging takes away from her other writing.  Maybe someday we'll be blessed to eyeball those projects.

Oh and I almost forgot again (convenient?) about my weight accounting.  The last two weeks haven't been good (excuses).  I wasn't able to exercise regularly and not consistent with my food.  But I'm starting this week at where I left off.
weight:  145.2
changes?:
  •  Dad is now on board so he won't be bringing home as many goodies, yea!
  • get up earlier and go to bed earlier
  • exercise!  no excuses!!
  • just say no!!
