We found the display tray (one that I've wanted) and this pretty ribbon to dress it up. Catlyn's colors are navy and light blue. Making the pies were tricky. We experimented the night before then let the kids eat them. The trick was making the crust tall enough that we could get them out of the tins and not let the filling overflow. But then we found that they weren't full enough. So although they may have tasted okay, I think they looked kind of funny. The cute part was the little heart we put on each one.
We worked pretty well as a team and got a lot done. My kids were excited to hear that a whole batch (24) bit the dust cause they wouldn't come out of the pan. Oh well, what turned out the best was the normal size lemon meringue pie that I didn't even take a picture of. It was the first to be eaten.
The shower was fun. I got to know a few more ladies in our stake and even took Rachel with us. The girls got a little giggly when the lingerie came out and the wives oohed and ah ed. It was pretty funny.
This is a picture of Joseph after coming home from a scout canoeing trip tonight. Jacob is actually still camping and won't be home till tomorrow. Joseph came home so he could go to wedding and reception. I think this picture was being taken by Abi cause it looks like Joseph is reaching to take the camera away. He was pretty tired especially since there was an odd number of guys. He ended up paddling a canoe by himself, 5 miles the first day and 15 today. He loves a challenge so he is often way in front of the boys when they go hiking. This was no different. Even though he was by himself, he stayed out in front. That's my hubby!!
