Aahhhhhh! It's a mouse!

Kitty is ready to pounce if he shows.
Today was the day for me to take  a rest from shopping and get my house back in order.  It's amazing what happens in a few short days when I neglect it.  As I opened the dishwasher to empty it, I noticed something moving inside. Having had experience before, I quickly noticed it was a mouse!  I squealed and ran to wake up Sarah.  I told her she had to come in the kitchen to be my support.  I didn't have a clue as to what she would do for me other than maybe save me if the mouse came after me.  Now that makes me sound prissy, which I'm not, but there's something wrong about a mouse in the kitchen. It makes my toes curl!
Kitty is wishing the mouse will come back.
So we stayed a good distance (across the room) while we figured out what to do.  I turned around to see the cat sleeping in the other room.  I thought if the cat could see the mouse, maybe she would catch it and take it outside. So, Sarah held her in her lap, high on a bar stool, until she noticed.  When she did, she became highly interested and even tried to climb in the dishwasher.  Then Sarah tried calling Dad to ask what to do.  He was in a meeting but soon called very concerned because Sarah was so incoherent on the phone.  He thought something terrible had happened.  While waiting for Dad, I called the neighbors to see if the husband can come and do something.  When he got here, the cat gave up and the mouse tried to jump ship but scurried through a hole under the cabinets.

Now we have to set out traps (I hate traps and even more I hate gathering the traps).  Mice belong in a grassy field or a cage, not my house!

Unfortunately, Abi watched the whole scene and is now frightened of mice--another prissy mouse girl.
My toes were curled the whole time I did the dishes!
