Forging the streams of life together! |
I am married to the most wonderful man! He seems to get more wonderful every year. This year the kids were razzing him for being out of town on such an "important" holiday. I kept telling them that it was okay. I don't need reassurance on a holiday when I get it every day.
He never forgets a holiday and this was no exception. But this year he surprised me with a beautiful love letter. I've gotten notes and cards before but never a love letter. It brought tears to my eyes. To top it off, shortly after I read the letter, a delivery man brought the biggest bouquet of roses I've ever received in my life along with a teddy bear and chocolates.
The size of the gifts isn't important but the act of expressing it means all the world. These are simple tokens of the love we share that has grown over almost 25 years of marriage. Our love would not have been so strong if we had given up when it was tough. Working through those tough times is like chipping off the rough edges while the good times add the polish and shine. Together we are building an eternal family and working out our salvation side by side, as a team. Family is the plan of happiness.
The chocolates are gone already! What diet? |
I pray that my children will prepare themselves and choose their companions wisely so that they too will have a partner to love and find joy with in this life and the eternities to come.
Happy Love Day!! Remember that all love emanates from God's love!
Cupcakes and treats for the kids. I also put hearts on their mirrors and in their backpacks. They were finding them all day. |
