Maybe a day later the same thing happens and again I tell her to teach her horsey to be nice. This time she comes back to tell me that she is still being mean. I said, "Then she should go to time out if she can't be nice". "Okay", she says.
Later, I walk into the kitchen and this is what I see in the corner...the time out corner. Her poor little horsey was still in time out from earlier. It was only when she saw me taking the picture that she remembered she was still there. Sad to say, I can relate. Many a time I've walked into the kitchen only to see one of my children still in time out from some offense. I pretend that I left them for that long on purpose and we do the exit "interview". Gratefully, that doesn't happen so much now that the other kids will come to the offender's rescue by reminding me quietly that they are still in the chair.
Thankfully, we don't have to use the chair much anymore. An extra chore works wonders!
Isn't my new desk cute? It's an antique dressing table (I needed it to be small). The mirror is in the girls room on their dresser. |
