a scholarship

Lookie at what Rachel did!
She won a scholarship to fly to Sacramento for a day.
Her and her partner (who is our dentist's son) were chosen to perform.
Here they are with the other kids from the school, their teacher and the state assemblyman.
(I've taken last names out)
ANNUAL CALIFORNIA YOUTH IN THEATRE DAY
Peninsula High School was one of forty-one schools invited to attend The 16th Annual California Youth in Theatre Day held in Sacramento on March 12, 2013.  Peninsula High drama students, Rachel , Luke , Alexander  and Claire  joined 221 other California high school theatre students to perform their prize- winning monologues, scenes, songs and dances.  The groups performed for Legislators and legislative aides at the Sacramento Theatre Company.  Luke and Rachel were chosen by the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) to perform their award-winning scene from the October Fall Festival.  Students spent the morning at the State Capitol building where they had a chance to meet with Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi before spending the day at Sacramento Theatre Company.
Pretty neat, huh?!
