The patience of a 3-yr-old

Every two weeks I take two days to run errands and do all my shopping.  Friday just happens to carry the bigger load.  Abigail used to really like to go but is starting to get restless half way through so my shopping trip speeds up and often gets cut short.

So this week I asked my friend if her daughter and Abi could have a play date together while I run my errands.  The girls love each other, so it was a win-win.

I waited til this morning to let Abi know what we were doing so she wouldn't pester me.  I should have waited a little longer because she quickly got dressed and put her coat on while I was still in my pajamas.  I kept telling her it would be a while before we went and that she should take her coat off and play before we go.  Nothing doin!

I changed my clothes to exercise.  She then followed me downstairs and plopped herself on the couch (coat still on) and watched me the whole time.  She never does that.  She does follow me, but usually plays with her toys.
When I was done she followed me upstairs and proceeded to go in the bathroom where I was going to take a shower.  I informed her that she couldn't stay in there while I was showering.  She accepted that and told me she would wait in my room.  I again suggested that she go play then I started my shower.  I kid you not, the second that I turned the water off, I hear "Mom!"  Unbelievable.  I tell her that I still have to dry my hair and get ready so I finally hear her walk down the hall.  But just as soon as I opened the bathroom door, I hear her footsteps running back to my room.  She actually was very patient now that I think about it.  She never got frustrated with me.  She just wanted to know exactly when we were going to leave and that meant watching my every move.

Finally, we're all ready and I drop her off at her friends.  The girls have a great time playing together and I have a peaceful shopping day.  I ended up even having two dates with hubby-lunch and and evening movie.  Good day.

What do ya think of blog look for March?  I learned some new skills.  See the shadows under the clover and the bee?  I can do that all by myself now.  I even separated that bee from another picture.  I've learned a couple of other things too that will show up over time.

I've learned a couple things about my weight loss that I'll share another day (night?).  It's 12 am and I'm tired.
